AVC-UP-31 | Structural-Steel Beam, Column & Connection Interface Checklist
Source-original editable Upper Structure & Structural Works Word construction checklist for structural-steel beam, column & connection interface checklist. The controls below are read from the actual attachment, with inspection and engineering hold/release evidence rather than generic marketing content.
WHEN TO INSPECT OR HOLD THIS STRUCTURAL WORK STAGE
Use where steel beams, posts, frames, lintels or connection plates form part of the upper structure or support slabs/roof elements. Check supports, geometry, connection details, temporary stability and concrete/masonry interfaces before concealment.
FIRST PRINTED STRUCTURAL, SURVEY AND TEMPORARY WORKS CONTROLS
1. Steel member type/mark, orientation, length and support positions match the approved structural/shop drawings. 2. Bearing seats, pockets, cast-in plates/anchors or column bases are dimensionally ready before erection. 3. Member levels, cambers and final geometry coordinate with slabs, walling, ceilings, façades and roof build-ups. 4. Handling/erection sequence and temporary stability are planned so partially connected steel is not left unstable. 5. Bolted/welded connection configuration, plate sizes, fasteners and weld requirements follow the approved detail and responsible specialist/engineer information. 6. Connection access permits proper tightening/welding/inspection before ceilings, concrete or masonry conceal the joint.
REMAINING CONTROLS, INSPECTION EVIDENCE AND RELEASE
7. Concrete encasement, fire protection, corrosion protection and dissimilar-material interfaces are coordinated where applicable. 8. Services do not drill/cut structural steel without approved information; planned service openings are fabricated/approved rather than improvised. 9. Final line, level, bearing and connection completion are checked before the member receives slab/roof or wall loads. 10. Any required specialist/engineer inspection, weld/bolt evidence or coating repair is completed before concealment. 11. As-built photos record critical connection and support conditions while visible. 12. Remaining temporary supports are removed only after the permanent load path is complete and release conditions are met. Record true OK / N/A / HOLD, inspection photographs, design revisions, support/loading evidence, test/competent-person sign-offs and a genuine checker RELEASE, HOLD or RE-CHECK.
ENGINEER, TEMPORARY WORKS, LOADING AND STATUTORY LIMITS
Use approved structural details, current engineer instructions, competent temporary-works design and inspection, correct propping/striking/backpropping and lifting plans, survey and as-built checks, concrete testing and staged-load releases. An editable workface checklist cannot certify structural capacity, authorise drilling/post-tension modifications or replace statutory or engineer acceptance.
