AB-TT08 — BLAST CLEARANCE, MISFIRES & NO-GO AREAS
You've won a contract inside a working opencast mine. Before the crew approaches any blast-controlled area, their prestart briefing must identify actual exclusions, suspected misfires and the only authority able to release the ground. Borrowed general-site talks cannot prove this. AVC's original AB-TT08 is a mine-workface toolbox talk for the awarded contractor.
SIX REAL SOURCE BRIEFING POINTS
1. Confirm the current blast timetable and actual exclusion map before every shift, because patterns and times change.
2. Know the evacuation signal, muster route, headcount procedure and official empowered to announce the all-clear.
3. Never cross a barricade to recover vehicles or tools merely because blasting is delayed.
4. Leave suspected misfires, exposed detonating items and unexploded materials untouched; report immediately.
5. Have a competent mine representative assess post-blast gas, dust, flyrock damage and unstable benches.
6. Re-enter only when the mine blast authority has authorised and recorded re-entry.
WHAT THE PRINTED ORIGINAL ACTUALLY CAPTURES
One editable A4 workface briefing form, six genuine subject points and exactly 16 crew signature lines. Record MINE / AREA / DATE / SHIFT, PERMIT / PRESENTER and each employee's NAME / EMPLOYEE OR ACCESS NO. and SIGNATURE. This is not an inspection certificate, blast permit or a safe-entry authorisation.
WITHDRAW, NOTIFY AND WAIT FOR THE MINE OWNER
The printed stop instruction requires withdrawal and notification to mine control for lost clearance, unstable ground, weather warning, moving fleets or an uncontrolled change. Only the appointed mine official may release the affected zone. No contractor's briefing signature can substitute for the recorded mine all-clear.
USE THE EDITABLE DOCUMENT AS REAL EVIDENCE
Add the mine-specific work order, current permit and exact shift; brief all exposed workers, record their own signatures and retain the signed source record in the contractor work package. Repeat after a change in hazard, permit or mine instruction. Never treat a tick or blank field as proof of compliance.
