WHY THIS TOOLBOX TALK IS NECESSARY

A shift change at a crusher or wash plant may leave the next crew unaware of open guards, changed isolation boundaries, unstable faces or water-pumping problems. AX-TT04 gives quarry crushing, screening, dredging and aggregate-washing workers a one-page briefing before work passes between shifts or restarts after changed mine instructions. It connects handover to actual machine condition and the need for mine-authorised release.

SIX REAL CHECKPOINTS IN THE SOURCE DOCUMENT

1) Quarry production owner witnesses staged restart and verifies pond/plant safeguards. 2) Test start-up interlocks, water pressure, emergency stops and dust capture. 3) Record traceability for replaced wear liners, mesh, spray nozzles and belts. 4) Control rockfall zones, bench/crest stability and stockpile drawdown. 5) Assess sediment settlement, discharge-permit conditions and turbidity restrictions. 6) Verify screen, conveyor and crusher guarding before opening maintenance.

WHEN, WHERE AND WHO USES IT

At the actual crushing/screening line, dredging area, wash circuit or quarry face, the presenter briefs incoming workers before task transfer or restart. Review unfinished maintenance, site movement boundaries, changed permits and any risks handed over by the outgoing crew. Do not treat a shift briefing as permission to energise plant.

STOP / WITHDRAW / NOTIFY MINE CONTROL

The printed stop instruction covers an unstable face, unguarded moving plant, overflowing pond or trapped aggregate release. Withdraw and notify mine control. Restart must await the mine-authorised official's release of the affected area or system. A signed attendance sheet is not an isolation certificate, environmental permission or operator restart permit.
