AW-C01 — MINE CLEANING WORKFACE PRESTART CHECKLIST
AW-C01 is the actual editable underground industrial-cleaning workface prestart checklist. It starts with mine ventilation and area authority release of the cleaning zone and adjacent airways before any crew can claim that airborne exposures, chemicals, equipment or waste routes are ready.
WHERE AND WHEN THE SOURCE FORM IS USED
Use it before starting mine cleaning, dust removal, jetting or waste handling at the specified level. Enter MINE / AREA / LEVEL, WORK ORDER / MINE ZONE, DATE / SHIFT / PERMIT and CONTRACTOR SUPERVISOR; verify the mine work order and operator limits at the actual face.
SEVEN ACTUAL UNDERGROUND CHECKS
1. Cleaning area and adjacent airways released by mine ventilation and area authority
2. Dust, silica, diesel particulate and chemical exposure control defined
3. No use of solvents, polishers or water methods outside approved material procedure
4. Cleaning does not damage support tags, sensors, cable protection or fire barriers
5. Wash water and sludge managed to avoid dewatering or water-quality impairment
6. Waste categories, containers and transfer records traceable to surface disposal
7. High-pressure jetting requires dedicated line isolation, hose integrity and exclusion zones
HOW TO COMPLETE THE EXACT TABLE
The original WORKFACE VERIFICATION / REQUIRED CONTROL table has Y, N and N/A response columns and EVIDENCE / DEFECT / ACTION. Assess each source item against current mine SOP/COP and approved work order, explain NO or N/A decisions and attach evidence. This checklist is not a work permit.
SPECIFIC MINE-WORKFACE RISK
An unoccupied airway is not automatically released or safe from silica/diesel exposure. Check every original Y/N/N/A row, including approved cleaning methods, protected support tags/fire barriers, wastewater, surface waste and high-pressure hoses. Apply the printed HOLD instruction to absent clearance or isolation.
DEFECTS, STOP RULES AND MINE RELEASE
The printed HOLD instruction requires stopping where mine clearance, isolation, emergency systems, support condition or critical evidence is absent, and reassessment after a changed shift or conditions. Use REVIEW / CLOSE-OUT AND EVIDENCE REFERENCES and accountable supervisor/mine signatures where required.
R12.95 ORIGINAL WORD OR TWO COMPLETE COLLECTIONS
The R12.95 editable AW-C01 original is also in the 371-form Underground Mining Checklist Package and 628-page full H&S File. Do not buy it twice. Mine permits remain essential.
