AV-TT02 — SHAFT & WINDER SAFE HANDOVER AND MINE INTERFACE TALK

Engineering handover affects the operator's personnel conveyance and mine rescue routes, not only the repaired machinery. AV-TT02 is the original safe-handover talk that begins with conveyance movement and rescue restrictions and then addresses the technical barriers before transfer.

WHERE AND WHEN THE MINE CREW USES THIS

Use it when shaft maintenance teams take possession of or return a headgear, rope, brake, guide or station work area. Confirm who controls the conveyance, which routes remain safe for evacuation and which mine official may accept a test. Repeat the briefing after changed hazards, permits, shifts or instructions.

SIX ACTUAL WORKFACE BRIEFING CONTROLS

1. Personnel conveyance restrictions, emergency movement and rescue plan communicated

2. Energy and stored tension in ropes, brakes and counterweights isolated

3. Independent anchorage, lifting, dropped-object and shaft barricade plans approved

4. Inspection scope covers guides, headgear, ropes, stations and signalling as applicable

5. Mine authorised competent inspector witnesses safety-device and brake tests

6. Worker access and evacuation remain separate from conveyance work envelope

HOW TO FILL IN THE GENUINE WORD FIELDS

Fill in MINE / AREA / DATE / SHIFT and PERMIT / PRESENTER. Discuss the six printed interface controls with shaft engineers and affected mine personnel, then record 16 NAME / EMPLOYEE OR ACCESS NO. and SIGNATURE lines. Toolbox attendance is not an operator handback signature.

IMPORTANT SHAFT-ENGINEERING DECISION

The source proceeds from emergency movement to rope/brake tension isolation, lifting and dropped-object planning, guides/headgear/rope inspection, witnessed safety-device testing and separated escape. The mine authority retains the release.

STOP, WITHDRAW AND OPERATOR RELEASE

The source lists unknown conveyance status, unsecured shaft opening, unproved brake or absent winder control as STOP / WITHDRAW / NOTIFY MINE CONTROL triggers. The mine-authorised official must release the affected zone or system before restart.
