328 / AU-C01 — DUST HYGIENE PRE-START AND MINE INTERFACE CHECKLIST
AU-C01 is the original one-page editable Word pre-start and mine-interface checklist for surface-mine dust control, environmental monitoring and occupational hygiene work. It is a seven-row workface verification form with actual evidence and action fields, not a generic PPE inventory.
THE TECHNICAL EXPOSURE AND CONTROL PROBLEM
Before a sampling crew starts, the hygiene programme must identify silica exposures and use correctly calibrated devices. Water carts and spray systems must suppress dust without creating a slick haul-road surface. AU-C01 links those often separate mine operating risks to current permits and supervisor verification.
SEVEN ACTUAL PRINTED WORKFACE CONTROLS
1. Mine hygiene officer defines dust/silica sampling locations, plan and methods. 2. Water cart and mist suppression compatible with mine road grip. 3. Sampling pumps, flow meters, instruments and laboratory traceability calibrated. 4. Respirable silica, dust, diesel fumes and noise exposure pathways identified.
5. Wind direction, process enclosures and suppression considered. 6. Monitoring results, exceedances and corrective actions assessed against thresholds. 7. Suppression faults during crushing or drilling promptly reported.
HOW THE ORIGINAL WORD FORM IS COMPLETED
Record the mine work area, work order, shift/permit and contractor supervisor on the source form. Complete MINE / PIT / WORK AREA, WORK ORDER / MINE ZONE, DATE / SHIFT / PERMIT and CONTRACTOR SUPERVISOR. Each of the seven printed checks offers Y, N, N/A and EVIDENCE / DEFECT / ACTION. Capture current hygiene instructions, calibration certificates, road-water safety and any failed suppression evidence.
The printed HOLD instruction stops work for missing clearance, isolation, protection or critical evidence and demands changed-condition review. Separate contractor supervisor and mine release authority signatures with DATE / RELEASE REF document close-out, but this checklist is NOT itself a site permit.
