AO-C01 — DRILLING TASK READINESS & PRESTART CHECKLIST
AO-C01 is the actual TEN-point drilling, coring and non-production opening prestart. Unlike seven-point checklists, it covers water-inrush preparedness, rig entanglement, sealing before concealment and mine survey reinstatement.
WHERE AND WHEN THIS ORIGINAL APPLIES
Complete against live mine permits and rock engineering rules. Identify Underground mine / site, Contractor / company, Area / zone, Date / shift, Work order / activity and Supervisor; state N/A reasons.
TEN ORIGINAL DRILLING PRESTART POINTS
1. Mine ground-control/rock engineer has authorised exact position and purpose of drilling.
2. Service scans, mine survey data, geological/void/old working hazards assessed by mine.
3. No penetration of active rock support, pillars, shotcrete or refuge walls without signed engineering change.
4. Gas/flammable atmosphere and approved drill power/air/water arrangements checked.
5. Drill/coring dust suppression compatible with mine ventilation and electrical safety.
6. Water inrush, pressurised void, mud and slurry control plan accepted.
7. Equipment anchored and restrained; rotating drill steel/entanglement hazard controlled.
8. Noise/vibration/dropped objects and nearby personnel exclusion established.
9. Core/opening inspected before concealment with required fire, gas and water sealing.
10. Mine survey/engineering acceptance and services reinstatement complete before handback.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE ACTUAL SOURCE RECORD
Use genuine ten RELEASE / VERIFICATION POINT rows with YES, NO, N/A and EVIDENCE / ACTION. Verify engineer-approved purpose, survey scans, signed support changes, gas/power/air/water, dust suppression, inrush/slurry plan, restrained rotating drills, noise/drop exclusion, fire/gas/water penetration sealing and final survey/engineering acceptance.
MINE SAFETY AND AUTHORISED RELEASE
The original RELEASE RULE requires all applicable high-risk and operator-owned holds released before work starts. Separate CONTRACTOR CHECK and MINE / HOST RELEASE signatures and date/reference are compulsory where applicable.
