208 / AQ-C02 — Coatings & Fireproofing Final Handover Checklist
WHERE AND WHY THIS RECORD IS USED
Completion of surface preparation or paint application does not establish that coating thickness, cure, fireproofing, insulation, waste clearance and refinery barrier reinstatement have been accepted by the facility.
THE ACTUAL WORKFACE APPLICATION
Use this eight-point final quality, decontamination and operations handback check after coating, insulation or fireproofing work is physically completed but before the area/system is returned to operations.
EIGHT SOURCE-PRINTED VERIFICATION POINTS
1. Work completed against approved scope and technical specifications; 2. Cleaned surface inspection; 3. Coating thickness/cure witness; 4. Fireproofing and insulation acceptance; 5. Temporary barriers, tools, materials and waste removed / accounted for; 6. All isolations and permits returned through operator-controlled process; 7. Remaining defects/NCR and operating restrictions documented and accepted; 8. Waste and plant return
HOW TO COMPLETE IT AND KEEP EVIDENCE
Record actual facility/unit/equipment, approved work order and operator PTW, contractor/shift. Mark Y/N/N/A for all eight rows and cite surface preparation, coating thickness/cure reports, fireproofing checks, insulation/weather seal inspection, waste records and open defects in the evidence/action area. Obtain contractor and separate facility authority signatures, with date and time. The original editable A4 Word check has Y, N and N/A against each printed item, plus a field for evidence/open actions/permit variations. Explain a genuine N/A, identify unresolved actions, and obtain contractor and facility-authority names/signatures/date and time. Retain source evidence with the authorised workpack.
WHAT MUST STOP THE WORK
Unaccepted fireproofing, incomplete curing, unclosed NCRs, unmatched permits or blocked plant protections remain STOP/HOLD; a contractor tick is not permission to restart the process.
INDIVIDUAL FORM, PACKAGE OR COMPLETE SAFETY FILE
One individually editable A4 Microsoft Word form costs R12.95. The 260-document Petrochemical Checklist Package is R1,559.95, about R6 per record. The complete 500-page Petrochemical Contractor Safety File is currently R1,899.95, just R340 above the package, and includes all 260 forms plus A–AA management, compulsory AB and all specialist AC–AV trade annexures. The operator controls permits and actual releases; prices may change.
