The seven-check original underground rigging shift/area readiness record begins with load class, mass and centre of gravity and ends with suspended-load emergency retrieval agreed by a responsible mine official.
WHERE THIS ORIGINAL APPLIES
Use before every shift working with suspended loads, mine hoists, chain blocks and authorised shaft transport. Fill MINE / AREA / LEVEL, WORK ORDER / MINE ZONE, DATE / SHIFT / PERMIT and CONTRACTOR SUPERVISOR.
SEVEN REAL RIGGING SHIFT SAFETY CHECKS
1. Mine lifting classification, load mass and centre of gravity verified
2. Underground anchor or hanging point is independently approved for load
3. Shaft conveyance dimensions, weight and lifting point declarations accepted
4. Rigger/signaller competence, radio calls and exclusion zones approved
5. Headroom and ground support clearance validated along entire load path
6. Crane, chain block, hoist and rigging certificates in date
7. Emergency retrieval of suspended load agreed with mine responsible officer
HOW TO COMPLETE THE ORIGINAL WORD RECORD
Complete all seven WORKFACE VERIFICATION / REQUIRED CONTROL rows with Y, N, N/A and EVIDENCE / DEFECT / ACTION, referencing current load calculations, rigging certificates, mine anchor approvals, clear paths and competent signals.
MINE AUTHORITY, LOAD SAFETY AND STOP CONDITIONS
A previous shift's permit does not authorise a changed load or anchor. The original requires HOLD when mine approvals, isolation, emergency safe retrieval or technical proof is missing.
EVIDENCE AND AUTHORITY CONTROL
Record mine-issued load declarations, actual rigging certificates, rock-anchor engineering where required, competent signallers, safe load travel paths and receiving-mine signatures. Keep supporting documents with the original source form. Contractors cannot give themselves shaft, winder, suspended-load or mine production authority through a checklist.
