001 - AB-00 | Project Issue & Annexure Selection

Why Section AB matters

Complete A–AA and AB for the contract; add only AC–AV trade sections needed for awarded activities. This is a comprehensive editable contractor H&S management and evidence system for South African petrochemical, refining and chemical/process installations. It does not replace the operating employer’s Major Incident Prevention Policy, MHI safety case, emergency command, process safety management system or licensed operator’s instructions.

How the file is actually assembled

Use the source issue instruction to include A–AA and Section AB for the awarded process-plant contract, then activate only AC–AV specialist annexures actually required by the contracted tasks. Site particulars, document owner, facility unit and controlled issue/revision must be completed for that real work package.

Operator versus contractor duty boundaries

A Major Hazard Installation designation is determined under the applicable legal framework and confirmed against the actual operator. The contractor maintains its own relevant employer, workforce, plant and task compliance and must be accepted under the operator’s real service-provider requirements. The Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and activity-specific regulations are considered for the real work. Construction Regulations 2014 apply only where the activity is legally construction work, not automatically to every industrial service. The operator decides plant-state, process boundaries, work permits, classified areas, isolations and start/stop authority.

How to use this standalone document

This petrochemical edition does not override separate facility licence conditions or specialist authorisations. For high-risk radiography, explosive-handling, process operations, emergency response, safety instrument bypass, confined rescue and high-voltage switching, the relevant separately authorised specialists and operator procedures remain compulsory. The file contains a common contractor core, process-site workface controls and selectable annexures. It is completed with actual permits, training, competent appointments, SDS, plant isolations, inspection and test results and sign-offs. Unauthorised workers must never treat a blank template as approval to enter or operate equipment.

INDIVIDUAL DOCUMENT OR COMPLETE REFINERY SAFETY SYSTEM?

This individual source-identical editable A4 Word document is R12.95. The 260-document Petrochemical Checklist Package is R1,559.95; the 500-page Petrochemical Contractor Safety File is currently R1,899.95 and includes all 260 forms, A–AA, the compulsory AB process-plant interface and AC–AV specialist annexures. Read the single to understand what the particular record does, then choose the set that fits your scope. Prices may change.
